Belinda is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya whose area of specialization is Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Law through her Masters Degree Course in Intellectual Property and Technology Law at the University of Nairobi.
She serves as the Company’s Legal and Partnerships Associate with her main responsibilities being drafting and review of Commercial Contracts on behalf of the Company; providing Legal support to the Company thus serves as the legal advisory to the Board of Directors; conducting Research on current legal trends in Bio-technology laws, policies and regulations in Sub-Saharan Africa; identifying potential partnership opportunities; and building and maintaining partner relationships.
Background & Experience
She was previously the Head of the Intellectual Property and Technology Department at Lumallas Achieng’ and Kavere Advocates, Nairobi, where she led the team in Corporate matters, Patent and Trademark applications among other duties. She has also had vast experience in Civil and Criminal Litigation having represented clients in the courtroom successfully in several jurisdictions across Kenya. She is a tutor and trainer of law, Intellectual Property Rights Law.
